Hydrazidefunctionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG NHNH2) is a reactive PEG derivativethat can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials viacarboxylic group (-COOH) or other amine reactive chemical groups. It alsoreacts quickly with carbohydrate residues. PEGylation can increase solubilityand stability and reduce immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can alsosuppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modifiedsurfaces.
